Puffins are great parents. They usually mate for life and have a baby every summer. Both parents take care of the baby. Shearwaters burrow into the soft earth along the cliffs or beaches for their babies. The burrows are about 3 feet long. Puffins are a toilet area in front of the burrow to keep the baby clean. If baby puffins get their dirty feathers, they could drown when they swim in the sea.
